“It fits like someone measured me first.”

I have given up on ordering clothes online more times than I can count. Something is always cut for a twenty five year old. This one sat right on the shoulder, the sleeve ended at my wrist and the hem fell exactly where I wanted it. I wore it out the same evening.

“My daughter asked if she could borrow it.”

She is thirty two and has opinions about everything I own. She picked this up off the chair, held it against herself and asked when she could have it. I told her never. The fabric has real weight to it and it does not wrinkle the moment you sit down.

“Three women stopped me at the luncheon.”

I wore it to a charity lunch expecting nothing in particular. By dessert three different women had asked me where it was from. One of them wrote the name down on the back of her place card. I have never had that happen with anything from a department store.

“Finally something with actual sleeves.”

At my age I want coverage without feeling wrapped up. This gets it right. The cut skims instead of clinging and the arms are properly finished. I am fifty eight and I felt entirely myself in it, which is more than I can say for most things I have bought recently.

“My husband noticed. That is rare.”

Forty one years of marriage and the man does not notice haircuts. I came downstairs in this and he put the paper down. That is the entire review. It has been through the wash twice already and it still looks the way it did when it arrived.

“I wore it four times in one week.”

Errands on Monday, dinner on Wednesday, my grandson's recital on Saturday. It handled all of it. That is what I want now. Not another thing hanging in the closet waiting for an occasion that never comes. I have ordered it in a second color.

“I do not write reviews. I made an exception.”

A friend showed up to book club in hers and I asked before I even sat down. Ordered mine that night. It arrived in five days, properly folded, no plastic mess. The seams are clean on the inside, which tells you everything about how it was made.
